Wednesday Night Racers Head to the Bay
Nikon N90, Kodak T-Max 100, sepia tone applied in PSE
I have a few images from the archives to share for now while I wait on more opportunities to get out. The boats here are headed out toward the turnaround point on the Chesapeake Bay just south of the bay bridge, after which they will return home for the crowded finish in front of Annapolis Yacht Club. (See Stacked Finish and Go, Baby, Go for an idea of the intensity of the finish line.)
The tower in the background is one of three remaining towers of the Naval Communications Station Washington, D.C., preserved for historical purposes as the array is no longer in use.
I just purchased an 80mm enlarging lens for less than $100 on Ebay (barely…as in $1). Now that agonizing wait until it arrives where I sweat it out, hoping it’s in the claimed condition…
More supplies to acquire after this, but I will have to do a formal inventory of what I have already before I know exactly what I need.
